A busy night of area basketball action took place Monday, with girls varsity and junior high teams across the region on the court. From lopsided road losses to strong tournament tune-up wins, local squads wrapped up regular-season play and looked ahead to postseason action.
Indian Lake 45, Marion Harding 25
The Lakers closed out their regular season with a physical road win at Marion Harding, pulling away in the second half for a 45–25 victory. After a hard-fought first half, Indian Lake took control coming out of the locker room, extending its lead to double digits and cruising to the win.
Carly Strayer led the Lakers with 17 points, while Kennedy Schwaderer added eight. Courtney Altstaetter and Rya Pequignot each scored seven, with Brylee Buyer and Alivia Kinney rounding out the scoring. Indian Lake now turns its focus to tournament play, hosting Northridge on February 21.
Benjamin Logan 39, West Jefferson 31
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders closed out their regular season on the road Monday night with a 39–31 varsity win over West Jefferson in their final tune-up before tournament play. It was a balanced team effort for the Raiders, who finished the regular season 12–10 while piling up 32 total rebounds and forcing turnovers with 17 steals.
Rylan Norviel led Benjamin Logan with 12 points, while Kylie Harner added eight points and five rebounds. Molly Siefring chipped in seven points, eight rebounds, and five steals. Addison Kuhn scored four points, Elliott Butler had three, Daylin Varner finished with two points, seven rebounds, and six steals, Jozie Taylor scored two, and Paislee Rodenberger added one point.
Earlier in the evening, the Benjamin Logan JV girls wrapped up their 2025–26 season with a 20–8 victory over West Jefferson, finishing the year with a 13–5 record. Madison Shields led the way with six points and two steals in two quarters of play. Miley Buetner contributed two points and three rebounds, Jozie Taylor scored four points, Aubrey Harris added four points, and Addison Kuhn chipped in four points and five rebounds.
The Lady Raiders now turn their attention to tournament play, opening postseason action Wednesday, February 18, at Troy with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against Dunbar.
Mechanicsburg 57, Cedarville 27
Mechanicsburg earned a convincing home win over Cedarville, defeating the Indians 57–27. The Burg led 14–2 after the first quarter and continued to build the lead throughout the game, holding Cedarville to single-digit scoring in three of four quarters.
Clara Forrest led Mechanicsburg with 16 points, followed by Clair Rodgers with 13 and Taylor Heizer with 12.
Milton-Union 76, Riverside 25
The Riverside Lady Pirates suffered a tough road loss Monday night, falling to Milton-Union 76–25. Milton-Union jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading 17–4 after the first quarter and 33–11 at halftime. The Bulldogs extended the margin to 61–22 after three quarters before closing out the win.
Riverside was led by Kenzie Stotler with 11 points and Maddie Lemly with 10. The Lady Pirates drop to 4–17 on the season.
7th Grade Boys Basketball — West Liberty-Salem 38, West Jefferson 32
The West Liberty-Salem 7th Grade Boys Basketball team opened OHC North tournament play with a 38–32 road win at West Jefferson. Miles Wright led the way with 15 points, while Greyson Leichty added 13. Harrison Sutherin chipped in six, with Michael Beard and Nathan Deitrick each scoring two.
West Liberty-Salem advances to face Fairbanks on Thursday.
