Lady Lakers earns title of CBC Mad River Division Champions — Softball Results

Area softball teams took to the mound Monday evening.

With a 21-1 victory over Urbana, the Indian Lake Lady Lakers are now the CBC Mad River Division Champions. This is the first softball league championship since 2008.

The Lady Lakers got things started in the first inning. An error scored one run for the Lakers.

Madison Brentlinger led things off on the rubber for Indian Lake. Brentlinger allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out one and walking zero.

The Lady Lakers scattered 17 hits in the game. Haylee Edwards, Halle Roby, Mackenzie Dixon, Porscha Davis, and Hannah Marlow each collected multiple hits for the team.

Dixon, Roby, and Edwards each collected three hits to lead the Lakers.

Indian Lake was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Roby made the most plays with five.

 

West Liberty-Salem beat Dixie in the first round of the sectional tournament 10-0.

Kennedy Wallace pitched the complete game with only allowing 3 hits and struck out 8. She also went 3-4 hitting with 3 RBIs.

Ava Buck was 2-4 with 2 RBIs.

Brielle Milliron and Brittany Neer each had 2 hits.

Rylie Schultz, Whitney Strapp, and Olivia Reichardt all had 1 hit and 1 RBI.

 

Benjamin Logan edged past Jonathon Alder 1-0.

The Raiders scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th.

Kyah Martin threw a complete game 1-hitter for Benjamin Logan.
