The Indian Lake Lady Lakers collected 18 hits on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to beat Waynesville.
The Spartan’s get the win over the Lakers, 17-15 in Waynesville.
Waynesville jumped out to the early lead in the top of the first inning when Kylie Bailey hit an RBI double, Ali Schuette singled in two more, and Katie McKeehan added a 2-run homer to center.
The Spartans extended their lead in the second with a three-run shot to center by Ava Hallows.
Waynesville continued to build on their early lead with three RBI singles in the third by Lauren Rieger, Bailey, and Hallows.
After Amanda Tudela homered to right in the top of the fourth, Waynesville owned an 11-0 lead. That’s when the Laker bats woke up.
Indian Lake scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to center field by Bre Wisener.
The Lakers scored another run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center by Halle Roby.
Indian Lake then scored seven runs on seven hits in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Mackenzie Dixon doubled, scoring three, Annie Rapp singled in a one-run, and Wisener doubled in another.
Abigail Elliott hit an RBI double, and Addison Stinemetz singled, scoring a run.
Wisener began the game for the Lakers and allowed seven hits and eight runs over one and one-third innings without a strikeout.
Roby came in and pitched five and two-thirds innings in relief for Indian Lake.
She surrendered 10 hits and nine runs while striking out one and walking two.
Amanda Tudela led things off in the circle for Waynesville for the win, giving up 11 hits and eight runs over five innings, striking out four and walking four.
Indian Lake Varsity Lakers piled up 18 hits in the game.
Bre Wisener drove the middle of the lineup, leading Indian Lake Varsity Lakers with 4 hits and five RBIs.
Waynesville tallied 17 hits in the game.
Ava Hallows provided a pop in the middle of the lineup and led the Spartans with four RBIs.
The third baseman went 2-for-5 on the day. Five Spartans had multiple hits for Waynesville in the win.
Indian Lake ends their season with a 16-9 overall record (10-6 in the CBC).
Waynesville moves on to face the #2-seeded Taylor in the D4 District Finals on Friday.
Riverside 9, Houston 3
The Riverside Lady Pirates won big over Houston 9-3 on Wednesday.
Houston got on the board first in the top of the first inning after Makenna Vondenhuevel singled down the right field line, and Riverside committed an error, each scoring one run.
Riverside responded with a run in the bottom of the first, thanks to a Riley Dillon solo home run to left.
The Pirates climbed into the lead in the bottom of the second after Miah Carman and Emilee Robinson both doubled to left field, and a couple of Wildcat errors gave the Lady Pirates a 5-2 lead.
Riverside added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on two hits.
Aubree Huston hit an RBI single, and Jayden Hoffer knocked a 2-run dinger to left.
Dillon earned the win for Riverside, surrendering four hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.
Vondenhuevel took the loss for the Wildcats.
She went six innings, allowing nine runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking two.
Riverside will play in the D6 District Finals on Friday.
Benjamin Logan 12, Carlisle 2
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders defeated Carlisle in the district semi-final game on Wednesday.
The team rallied in the rain and played a solid game.
Offensively, Tanna Jacobs went 1-2 with three RBIs, and Rylan Norviel had a double and two RBIs.
Lilly Kerns had a triple and an RBI, and Adilynne Gregg and Skylar Miracle each added hits.
Chloe Crumm earned the win on the mound, taking her record to 9-3.
Adilynne Gregg closed in the fifth inning.
The Lady Raiders improve to 18-7 on the season and will play Clinton-Massie in the District Final game on Friday.
West Liberty 9, Cedarville 6
The West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers ended their regular season with a win over Cedarville, 9-6.
All seniors heavily contributed to the win. Kennedy Wallace had 3 hits and pitched one of her best games.
Audrey Collins added 2 hits, including a double, 2 RBIs, and a run.
Shyanne McClintick walked and scored a run. Teagan Boyd got a hit and an RBI.
