In a thrilling four-set contest on Thursday night, the Indian Lake Lady Lakers defeated the West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers 22-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-22.
The first saw the Lakers maintain firm control for most of the set, but the Tigers hung around, never being down by more than four points all set, and struck late after taking their first lead of the set at 22-21 and held on to take an early 1-0 lead.
Set two was dominated by the Lakers, as Courtney Alstaetter spectacularly stepped into the spotlight with a masterful presence at the net. The Lady Lakers evened the match at one set apiece.
Sets three saw West-Liberty-Salem jump out to an early and commanding 15-9 lead, but the Lady lakers followed that up with a 10-1 run and held on to win set three.
The battle intensified in set four, as each side was scrappily fighting for control. Back and forth the two sides went until some key attacks and crucial errors led to the Lady Lakers claiming the set and ending the match with a 3-1 victory to stay unbeaten. Alstaetter was the highlight for the Lady Lakers with 22 kills from her middle hitter position, and flashed the ability at the net with three blocks. Libero Riley Ross was flying all over the court with her impressive defense, tallying 20 digs. Three Indian Lake players tallied seven kills: Cami Bailey, who also had eight digs in the effort, Alivia Kinney, & Mackenzie Miller. Addyson Roby was masterful in setting up the attack, gathering 47 assists.
The Lady Tigers were led by their powerful attacker Naomi Cole, who totaled 15 kills with a pair of aces. Tiger libero Reagan Winters starred on defense with 21 digs. Two other Tigers hit double figures in that department, with Kiersten Stoll digging 11 and Ava Poppe with ten. More stat leaders for West Liberty-Salem are listed below:

Leading the way for the Lady Lakers were Claire Tidwell with 9 kills, Kenzlee Purtuset had 4 kills, Layna Nessler with 3 aces and 6 assists, Lux Kipker had 6 digs and 8 assists, and Piper Warnecke with 10 digs.

The Laker freshman team beat the Tigers in two straight sets: 25-8, 25-11.
Ayla Brentlinger had 6 aces, Piper Robinson had 4 aces and 4 kills, Kyler Carruthers had three aces, and Audra Harford added three kills.

The Bellefontaine varsity volleyball team delivered a commanding performance, sweeping Riverside in straight sets: 25-7, 25-14, 25-14.
Senior Kelsie Snapp led the charge with an impressive stat line, racking up 15 kills, five aces, while being a perfect 18-for-18 from the service line, and 23 digs. Presley Vigansky was equally sharp at the line, serving 25-for-26 with seven aces and adding three kills.
Ari Rangel contributed six kills, while Madi Zedeker orchestrated the offense with 31 assists, also adding two aces and six kills of her own. Kaeleigh Flora and Zoey Conner anchored the defense with nine digs apiece, and Flora chipped in six kills. Ava Layman added six kills and 16 digs, and Jillian Ullom rounded out the defensive effort with two digs.
The Chiefs move to 2-0 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Wapakoneta. JV Black will kick off the day at 9 AM.
In JV Red action, the Chiefs also came out on top, defeating Riverside 25-18, 25-13. Alayna Boyd led the defense with 12 digs and added three kills. Rosalie Lightle had six digs, while Celin Blinn contributed four digs and six aces. Lexi McKirahan and Brooklyne Kuntz each had three digs, with Kuntz also serving up three aces.

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders convincingly swept Cavalry Christian 25-5, 25-17, 25-8. The stat leaders for Benjamin Logan follow below:
