High school basketball teams across the area hit the floor Monday night with Senior Night recognition, conference action, and the final games of the regular season, setting the tone as postseason play approaches.
Indian Lake 59, Lehman Catholic 21
The Indian Lake Lady Lakers celebrated Senior Night in style Monday, February 2, hosting Lehman Catholic and honoring seniors Kennedy Schwaderer and Carly Strayer before tipoff. Both seniors were recognized for their dedication and contributions to the program as they took the home floor for the final time.
Once the game began, Indian Lake wasted no time taking control. The Lakers jumped out to a 12–4 first-quarter lead and never looked back, outscoring the Cavaliers in every quarter on their way to a convincing 59–21 victory.
Alivia Kinney and Carly Strayer led the Lakers with 18 points apiece, while Kennedy Schwaderer added 9. Additional scoring came from Brylee Buyer, Bre Wisener, Rya Pequignot, and Audra Harford.
Indian Lake will be back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Benjamin Logan for a CBC matchup.
Benjamin Logan 62, Triad 17
Triad closed out the regular season at home Monday night, falling to Benjamin Logan 62–17 in non-league action.
The Lady Raiders set the tone early, outscoring Triad 50–4 in the first half and cruising to the win behind balanced scoring, with all Benjamin Logan players contributing offensively. Kylie Harner led the Raiders with 14 points, while Elliott Butler added 8. Adilynne Gregg scored 6 points, Daylin Varner, Brielle Kline and Addison Kuhn each finished with 5, and Joplin Schneider and Madison Shields added 4 points apiece.
For Triad, Taylor Queen led the Cardinals with 6 points, followed by Emma Martin with 5 and Addi Matthews with 4.
Triad finishes the regular season with a varsity record of 0–16 and an overall mark of 0–22, while Benjamin Logan improves to 9–10 on the season.
