Indian Lake 12, Urbana 2
The Indian Lake Lady Lakers are once again sectional champs after defeating Urbana 12-2 on Thursday.
The Lakers jumped out to the lead early, scoring 6 in the bottom of the first inning.
They added 2 more in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI sacrifice flies by Annie Rapp and Bre Wisener.
Indian Lake added two runs in the third on a Roby single to center field, making the score 10-2.
Wisener earned the win for the Indian Lake Varsity Lakers.
She allowed two hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking two.
Abby Schaffer started in the circle for Urbana, giving up 14 hits and 12 runs (10 earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking one.
Indian Lake collected 14 hits in the game.
Halle Roby and MacKenzie Miller each collected three hits for the Indian Lake Varsity Lakers.
Abigail Elliott and Izzi Mackesy each collected multiple hits for the Lakers.
Baley Smith and Emma Adams each collected hits for Urbana.
Bellefontaine 9, Tecumseh 1
Addison Wical brought the stick on Thursday and gathered three hits in four at-bats, as Bellefontaine Lady Chieftains beat Tecumseh 9-1 on Thursday.
Wical homered to center in the fourth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the third inning.
Bellefontaine jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Joy Fogan doubled in two runs, and Ava Watson dropped an RBI single.
The Lady Chieftains added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Fogan tripled down the right field line and then tagged up to score another run.
Fogan started in the circle for Bellefontaine Varsity Chieftains, giving up two hits and one run over six and one-third innings, striking out three and walking six.
Amerie Matthews gets the loss for Tecumseh, allowing 12 hits and nine runs over seven innings, with no strikeouts and four walks.
Kassi Prine appeared in relief for the Bellefontaine Varsity Chieftains.
Bellefontaine tallied 12 hits in the game.
Wical and Fogan were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for the Lady Chieftains.
Fogan went 3-for-4 on the night, leading Bellefontaine with four RBIs.
Olivia Shelton and Stevie Bower each got hits for Tecumseh.
Benjamin Logan 15, Oakwood 1
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders opened up post-season play on Thursday with a 15-1 win over Oakwood High School.
Chloe Crumm pitched a strong game in the circle, allowing just four hits and one run and striking out eight batters in five innings.
Offensively, the Lady Raiders were led by Rylan Norviel, who tripled twice and drove in four runs.
Lilly Kerns had two hits, including a double and two RBIs, and Chloe Crumm had two hits and an RBI.
Keeli Rostorfer, Skylar Miracle, Tanna Jacobs, Sidney Sallee, Bryleigh Burnside, and Adilynne Gregg all had hits.
The Lady Raiders will host Carlisle on Tuesday, May 20, at 5 pm.
