Lady Lakers win tight 5-set dual over Lady Trojans; more local volleyball finals

The Indian Lake Lady Laker varsity team improved to 8-1 on the season with an exciting 5-set win over the Botkins Lady Trojans: 14-25, 25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Riley Ross led the Laker defense with 19 digs, while Addison Beck added 11 digs and 7 perfect receptions.

Leading the offense was Cami Bailey, who had 17 kills, 2 blocks, 7 digs, and 2 aces.

Courtney Altstaetter had 13 kills. Annie Rapp had 5 kills, 9 digs, and 2 aces. Mackenzie Miller had 8 kills, 9 digs, and 2 aces.

Addyson Roby dished out 42 assists, 1 block, and 3 aces.

In other Laker action, the junior varsity team lost in 2 sets: 25-9, 25-15. Stat leaders are listed below:

  • Audra Harford had 3 kills
  • Kyler Carruthers had 7 digs
  • Piper Warnecke had 8 digs

First up, the IL freshman team won in 3 sets: 23-25, 25-11, 25-18.

First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.

 

The Calvary Christian Spartans varsity volleyball team faced Triad, falling in three sets by scores of 13–25, 14–25, and 11–25.

The Cardinals’ quick offense and strong net play proved tough to match, but the Spartans continued to fight and show resilience throughout the contest.

Ava Cole led the attack with 7 kills and added 3 aces. Setter Grace Zell dished out 11 assists, while Claire Heater chipped in 6 kills.

 

The Bellefontaine Middle School Lady Chiefs volleyball teams hosted the Graham Falcons in two tight matches.

The 8th-grade team won in two sets: 27-25, 25-23.

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raider middle school teams hosted the London Red Raiders.

Both the 7th and 8th graders each fell in straight sets.

7th grade falls 25-13, 25-21, with 5 kills, 7 aces, and 9 digs, while 8th grade drops the match 25-18, 25-21, tallying 8 kills, 5 assists, 5 aces, and 17 digs.

 

The Riverside Middle School teams hosted the Miami East Vikings in a conference matchup.

The Lady Pirates were swept in both team matches.

8th-grade scores were 25-15, 25-14, and 7th-grade scores were 25-19, 25-21.

8th-grade stat leaders are listed accordingly:

The West Liberty-Salem 8th-grade Lady Tigers lost to Cedarville in a close, 3-set match: 25-21, 23-25, 28-26.

Team stats were 19 kills, 8 aces, 49 digs, 16 assists, and 2 blocks.

The 7th-grade Lady Tigers lost in two sets: 25-19, 25-9. Team stats were 12 kills, 2 aces, 27 digs, 12 assists.
