Lady Pirates Fall to Houston; Lady Spartans Defeat Spring Valley

The Varsity Lady Pirates lost to Houston 31-46 on Tuesday.

Houston got off to a quick lead after the first quarter with a 13-7 advantage and extended that lead in the second quarter with a 31-15 advantage going into the half.

Riverside cut the lead to 12 after three quarters with Houston still up 36-24.

Then Houston pulled away in the fourth quarter winning 46-31.

Zoie Armbruster and Aubree Huston led the Pirates in scoring with 7.

The Lady Pirates fall to 5-9 and will play a conference matchup at Northridge on Thursday night.

 

The Lady Spartans faced off against Spring Valley in an OVCC conference matchup.

The Spartans won the hard-fought matchup 48-36.

They were led by Abigail Reinhard who posted a double-double by pouring in 33 points and grabbing 10 rebounds with 6 steals.

Madhuri Cook pitched in 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Kari Gantz added 5 points and had 4 rebounds.

KayLee Hurely had the defensive assignment for the night and tallied 7 steals.

Kaylie Carter chipped in 2 points and Nora Thornton tallied a point.

The Lady Spartans are now 10-1 overall and 7-0 in the OVCC.
