Miami East defeated the Riverside Pirates 9-3 on Friday, thanks in part to five runs in the sixth inning.
A single by Kylie Gentis put Miami East on the board at the top of the first.
Jayden Hoffer grounded out, which helped Riverside tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
Riverside took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Riley Dillon hit a solo home run to centerfield to give the Pirates the lead, 2-1.
Miami East flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Alli Rose that drove in two.
Jacqueline Kadel earned the win for Miami East, giving up five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking five. Riley Dillon took the loss for Riverside. The righty went seven innings, giving up nine runs (two earned) on 10 hits, striking out five and walking two.
Dillon, Miah Carman, and Hoffer each drove in one run for Riverside. Aubree Huston led the Pirates with two hits in four at-bats.
Miami East tallied 10 hits in the game. Rose led Miami East with three RBIs from the number eight spot in the lineup. The first baseman went 1-for-4 on the day. Leadoff hitter Whitni Enis led Miami East with three hits in five at-bats and three stolen bases.
Riverside welcomes Covington on Saturday for their next game.
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders defeated Urbana 15-4 in a league crossover game on Friday. The team combined for 11 hits and eight RBIs.
Leading the way offensively were Keeli Rostorfer, who doubled twice and drove in two runs, and Tanna Jacobs, who went 2-4 with a double and two RBIs. Lilly Kerns also had two hits and doubled once, and Chloe Crumm was 1-1 with two walks and two RBIs. Skylar Miracle doubled, and Kylie Harner and Adilynne Gregg each added singles.
Sidney Sallee earned the win on the mound, striking out six batters.
Benjamin Logan will celebrate their seniors on Monday night while hosting Indian Lake. Urbana will travel to Tecumseh.

In 8U Softball, the Indian Lake 8U Biggby softball team dispatched West Mansfield on Friday, 9-2.
IL got on the board at the top of the first inning after Henley Warnecke tripled, and Myla Gillespie doubled, each scoring one run.
A single by Genevieve Magoto and a double by Bella Monterroza helped extend their early lead in the second.
Four more runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 8-2. Jennleigh Ward doubled, scoring one run, and Emmie Whitlow homered, scoring two runs.
IL collected 11 hits in the game. Myla Gillespie led with two hits in two at-bats. Bella Monterroza and Emmie Whitlow each drove in two runs for the IL Biggby team.
Addie A and Kinley K each drove in one run for West Mansfield. Naiomi D went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead West Mansfield in hits.
