In Tuesday’s softball action, Riverside came from behind to win 7-6 against Bellefontaine in a dramatic walk-off finish.
Bellefontaine led 6-1 going into the bottom of the third, but Riverside fought back, tying the game in the seventh inning.
With the score tied, Riverside’s Taylor Dillon hit a double to drive in the winning run.
Bellefontaine had a strong offensive showing with 17 hits, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance by Airiana Young, but could not hold the lead.
Riverside’s Keira Manahan picked up the win, pitching four scoreless innings in relief.
Riverside will play Fort Loramie at home on Thursday, and Bellefontaine will be on the road at Bath on Friday.
Over at Benjamin Logan, the Lady Raiders opened their season with a dominant 18-1 win over Sidney.
The game was called after five innings, as the Lady Raiders racked up 11 hits, including six doubles, and drove in 12 RBIs.
Sidney Salley led the way, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and six RBIs.
Chloe Crumm also had a standout game, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs.
On the mound, Crumm threw a complete game, striking out eight and earning her first win of the season.
Ten different players crossed the plate for the Lady Raiders.
The Lady Raiders will be back in action on Thursday when they host Southeastern.
In other action, Minster defeated Indian Lake 9-2, powered by a five-run fifth inning.
Minster racked up 13 hits in the game.
Indian Lake’s Bre Wisener pitched the entire game, allowing 13 hits and nine runs.
Indian Lake’s offense was led by Halle Roby and Izzi Mackesy, who each had two hits.
Indian Lake will host Riverside on Friday.
