Benjamin Logan Cross Country Teams Shine at Kenton Invitational

The Benjamin Logan Boys and Girls Cross Country teams delivered impressive performances at the Kenton Invitational on Thursday night.

Boys Team Highlights

The boys’ team secured a commendable third-place finish, led by senior Landon Zehner, who not only finished first overall out of 60 runners but also set a new personal record (PR) with a time of 18:18. This victory marks Landon’s first Invitational championship as an individual.

Junior Tyler Shoopman followed closely, finishing fifth overall with a time of 18:29. Other standout performances included junior Holden Zehner, who achieved a new PR of 19:38, finishing in 16th place. Sophomore Maxwell Troth finished 23rd at 20:23, while freshman Greyson Butler set a new PR of 21:05 for 31st place. Junior Gabe Elsasser finished 35th at 21:44, and freshman Michael Berry ran a PR of 21:57, placing 37th.

Girls Team Highlights

The Lady Raiders also delivered an impressive performance, securing a strong second-place finish among eight competing schools. Lucy Wenger led the charge, earning a medal for her outstanding 8th-place finish out of 63 runners with a time of 22:42.

Teammates Nora Elliott and Scarlett Elliott followed closely, also securing medals with 9th and 10th place finishes, clocking in at 22:44 and 23:11, respectively. The scoring lineup continued with Gwendolyn Smith finishing 11th in 23:15, Mollie Siefring in 12th at 23:21, Peyton Smith in 13th at 23:28, and Hadley Boysel rounding out the scoring in 14th place with a time of 23:32.

Both teams will next compete at the CBC Conference Championships on Saturday, October 12, at Graham High School.
