The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders competed in their first 5K race of the 2025 season at the Northwestern Invitational in Springfield on Saturday.
The varsity girls’ race featured 115 runners from 16 schools, with Addie Mohler of Southeastern High School taking first place in 21:16.
Leading the Lady Raiders was sophomore Gwen Smith, who finished 23rd in 23:45.
She was followed closely by Lucy Wenger in 28th (24:11), Molly Siefring in 30th (24:32), Lauren Kennedy in 31st (24:39), Peyton Smith in 36th (25:04), Elliott Butler in 41st (25:30), and Bonnie Brunson in 44th (25:46).
Other Lady Raiders completing the race included Lottie Bodin (47th, 25:52), Illiana Vermillion (65th, 27:35), Montana Coleman (75th, 29:01), Maille Ricketts (94th, 32:16), Mallory Chapman (95th, 32:29), and Natalie Chapman (113th, 38:32).
The team finished fourth overall with 118 points, behind Hilliard Darby, Greenville, and Miami East.
Benjamin Logan will return to the course on Tuesday for the Logan County XC Championships at Indian Lake High School.
