Lady Tigers roll on Senior Night; Raiders set school wins record

It was a strong Monday night for local girls’ soccer as both Benjamin Logan and West Liberty-Salem earned impressive victories to close out the regular season. Lady Tigers celebrated Senior Night in style with a dominant performance against West Jefferson, while the Lady Raiders made program history with a record-setting win over Tecumseh.

West Liberty-Salem 5, West Jefferson 1

The West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers celebrated Senior Night in style with a dominant 5–1 win over West Jefferson.

Arianna Weaver and Emily King each netted two goals, while Kaylee Powell added one. Assists came from Jenna Cline, Emery Longaberger, and goalkeeper Kaylee Blair.

In goal, Blair recorded 5 saves, and Ella Jacobs added another.

The Tigers improve to 5–9–1 overall and 4–3 in conference play. They’ll hit the road Thursday for a non-conference matchup at Newton, with kickoff set for 6 p.m.

Benjamin Logan 2, Tecumseh 1

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders made history Monday night with a 2–1 victory over Tecumseh, setting a new school record for wins in a season.

Daylin Varner and Brooklyn Smedley each scored for the Raiders, with Smedley’s goal assisted by Ella Chamberlain.
Benjamin Logan will look to cap off their record-setting regular season Wednesday night at home when they host North Union for Senior Night.
