Lady Raiders shoot season best, Laker boys beat Falcons in local Thursday golf results

Local high school golf teams were back on the course Thursday, with Benjamin Logan and Indian Lake competing in dual and conference matches.

Girls’ Golf

Northwestern 202, Benjamin Logan 212

Benjamin Logan posted its best team score of the season Thursday but fell to Northwestern 202-212 in a dual match at muddy and wet Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

Kaylynn Crumm led the Lady Raiders with a 50, followed by Catherine Bramlage with a 51 and Leah Braddock with a 53. Montana Coleman added a 58 to complete the team score.

Sophia “River” VanVoorhis shot a 59, while Annika Schmidt finished with a 68, Kaydence Hamlin shot a 69, Elizabeth Bramlage had a 79 and Laurel Smith finished with an 81.

Despite the loss, Benjamin Logan’s 212 marked its best team score of the season.

The Lady Raiders will be back in action Monday in a rescheduled match against Graham at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

Boys’ Golf

Indian Lake 179, Graham 223

Indian Lake picked up a CBC Mad River victory Thursday night, defeating Graham 179-223 at Windy Knoll.

Jaxon Snipes led the Lakers with a 39, earning medalist honors for the match. Crew McPherson followed with a 45, while Mason Berg shot a 46 and Grant Wickline added a 49 to complete the team score.

Jesse Carder and Reid Roberts also competed for Indian Lake, each shooting a 56.

The Lakers improve to 2-2 in the conference and 3-4 overall. Indian Lake will return to action Monday, August 24, against Northwestern at Prairie View.
