The Lady Raiders volleyball teams showcased determination and skill in their recent matches, with both the 7th and 8th grade teams demonstrating impressive growth throughout the season.
7th Grade Highlights
In an intense match, the 7th grade team faced off against their opponents, falling short with scores of 18-25 and 19-25. Michaelle Hoge was the standout player, leading the team with 7 kills and 3 aces. Maci Stafford made significant contributions as well, tallying 8 assists. Mica Coaty added 3 kills, while Della Baker helped with 2 aces.
Defensively, Ruby Johns led the charge with 5 digs, supported by Josie Harshfield’s 3 digs. Marley Snoke, Jenna Reidmiller, and Zaley Burnside each contributed with 1 dig. Despite the loss, the team has shown tremendous improvement this season, leaving coaches and fans eager to see what next year holds for these talented young athletes.
8th Grade Highlights
The 8th grade team faced North Union in a closely contested match, ultimately losing 21-25 and 24-26. Despite the defeat, the players exhibited resilience and teamwork throughout the game. Coaches noted the remarkable progress the girls have made both as a cohesive unit and as individuals.
With the season wrapping up, there is great anticipation for what lies ahead for these players as they transition to high school volleyball. Their commitment and hard work have laid a strong foundation for future success.
