Lady Spartans suffer first loss, Laker boys fall to Worthington Christian – Weekend basketball results

Area basketball teams hit the hardwood over the weekend.

The Bellefontaine varsity girls fell to London 42-38.

Tiffany Boop led the Lady Chiefs with 11 points.

Bellefontaine is now 11-7 (2-3 CBC).

The Benjamin Logan varsity girls topped Northwestern 36-25.

Georgia Bates led the Lady Raiders with 14 points, Kyndal Cronkleton added 7 points, and Mya Burrey chipped in 5 points.

Benjamin Logan’s JV team ran past Northwestern in 2 quarters 28-6.

Rylan Norviel led with 9 points, Mya Burrey added 6 points, and Adilynne Gregg had 5 points.

The Lady Raiders improve to 9-8 (4-2 CBC).

Calvary Christian’s varsity girls lost to Elgin 46-33.

Leading the Lady Spartans was Hannah Marlow with 15 points and 12 rebounds, Madhuri Cook added 5 points and 3 rebounds, Abigail Reinhard chipped in with 4 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals, KayLee Hurley tallied 3 points, and Karlie Penhorwood, Julie Childers, and Anna Kratz each had 2 points.

Calvary falls to 5-1.

In the JV game, the Lady Spartans fell to Elgin 27-10.

KayLee Hurley led Calvary with 6 points, and Nora Thornton and Kari Gantz each had 2 points.

The Indian Lake varsity girls ran past Graham 53-22.

Leading the Lady Lakers was Stephanie Altstaetter with 21 points. Allison Kinney added 19 points.

The Lakers improve to 6-10 (2-5 CBC).

Graham falls to 4-11 (0-6 CBC).

Indian Lake won the JV game 53-22.

Carly Strayer led the Lakers with 18 points and 14 rebounds, Kennedy Schwaderer had 12 points and Harly Kinninger scored 10 points.

Ridgemont’s varsity girls lost to Vanlue 57-22.

Lauren Wingfield led the Lady Gophers with 10 points.

Ridgemont falls to 2-9.

The Riverside varsity girls lost to Troy Christian 42-30.

The Lady Pirates were led by Jade Copas with 10 points.

Riverside falls to 5-10 (2-7 TRC).

The Urbana varsity girls fell to North Union 55-38.

Peyton Mounce paced the Lady Hillclimbers with 14 points.

Urbana is now 9-5 (4-2 CBC).

In varsity boys’ action:

Benjamin Logan lost to Fairbanks 55-37.

Ty Anspach led the Raiders with 13 points.

Benjamin Logan is now 0-12 on the year.

The Raiders fell in the JV game 36-25.

The Calvary Christian varsity boys rolled past Mars Hill 63-38.

Leading the Spartans were Patrick James, Ezra Davie, and Wyatt Schlatter who each recorded a double–double.

James tallied 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks, Davie had 13 points, 10 boards, and 4 assists and Schlatter recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals.

Kaden Downey pitched in 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists, Evan Patton had 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 points, Ephraim Daniels added 3 rebounds, 2 points, and 2 assists, and Luke Gartner had 3 points.

Calvary will take on Sidney Christian Tuesday at home.

Indian Lake lost in a back-and-forth game to state-ranked Worthington Christian 60-55 in the Battle in the 614 Tournament held at Ohio Dominican University.

Caiden Nicol led the Lakers with 19 points, Avery Pequignot pitched in 14 points, and Dawson Finfrock scored 11.

The Lakers are back in action Tuesday when they host Tecumseh.

Middle School:

The Bellefontaine 7th-grade girls beat Ridgemont 21-13.

The Lady Chiefs used a strong 12-0 run to take command of the game early.

Leading Bellefontaine was Ava Oppy with 11 points, Amari Hunsicker tallied 8 points and Sloan Stolly added 2 points.

Joy Fogan, Vanessa Friedrich, and Stolly combined for 16 rebounds.

The Lady Chieftain 7th-grade team improves to 9-3 on the year.

In the 8th-grade game, Bellefontaine ran past Ridgemont 40-15.

The Lady Chiefs were led by Hailee Lamb with 12 points, Sophia Jacobs poured in 7 points, Grace Brown and Emma Whitaker each scored 6, Presley Vigansky added 4 points, Hannah Wilson tallied 3 points, and Paige Smith had 2 points.

Bellefontaine pulled down over 40 rebounds as a team and created 20-plus steals.

The Middle School Lady Chiefs return to action Thursday, hosting Jonathan Alder.

The Bellefontaine 7th-grade boys blitzed Ridgemont 53-8.

Sam Jenkins led the Chiefs with 15 points, Reign St. Clair pitched in 10 points, and Tyler Rossey added 9 points.

Bellefontaine won the 8th-grade game 56-25.

The Chiefs were led by AJ Conaway and Spencer Stolly with 12 points each, and CJ Butler tossed in 7 points.

Bellefontaine’s 8th-grade boys improve to 8-3.

The Chieftain Middle School boys will hit the court again Thursday at Jonathan Alder.
