Lady Tigers, Pirates, and Benjamin Logan teams serve up exciting wins

The Benjamin Logan Middle School volleyball teams faced Graham on Monday with mixed results.

  • 7th Grade: Benjamin Logan cruised to a 25-3, 25-14 win over Graham. The team recorded 23 aces, 13 kills, 11 assists, and 1 dig.
  • 8th Grade: The 8th grade team battled hard but fell 24-26, 20-25. Standout stats included 16 kills, 6 blocks, 17 assists, 5 aces, and 19 digs.

Riverside hosted Troy Christian in a league match on Monday.

  • 7th Grade: The Riverside Pirates defeated the Eagles 25-20 and 25-16. Key contributors included Bella Shultz with 25 points, 12 aces, and a tip; Ruth Morrison with 4 points and 2 aces; Bella Monnin 3 points with 1 ace; Paloma Quixan 3 points with 1 ace; Bella Beaty 2 points with 1 ace; Avery Wheeler 1 point with 1 ace; and Kinsley Crawford 1 point with 1 tip.
  • 8th Grade: The 8th-grade squad played a competitive match but lost 19-25, 22-25. Top performers included Gracie Rench 7 points with 1 ace; Aliya Salo 4 points with 2 aces; Sofia Butler 3 points with 2 aces; Lillian Jackson 2 points with 1 ace; Izzy Hudson 1 point with 1 ace; Alexis Skaggs 1 point; and Annabell O’Neal and Bella Robinson each with 4 digs, with Bella also adding a tip.

Riverside will host Sidney Lehman on Thursday with a 5:30 p.m. start.

 

West Liberty Lady Tigers:

  • 7th Grade: The Lady Tigers battled Mechanicsburg in an exciting three-set match, winning 25-19, 18-25, 26-24. The team excelled at the net and defensively, improving their overall record to 5-9. Team stats: 41 kills, 13 aces, 52 digs, and 31 assists.
  • 8th Grade: The 8th-grade Lady Tigers dominated Mechanicsburg in two sets, 25-20 and 25-8. Superior serving made it difficult for the Indians to return the ball, bringing the Tigers’ record to 12-2 overall. Team stats: 8 kills, 11 aces, 9 digs, and 7 assists.
