Lady Tigers win first golf match; Riverside boys and girls fall – Monday golf scores

Several local golf teams were in action Monday evening.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls team defeated Madison Plains 287-291.

Makenna Smith led the Lady Tigers with a 64, which is her lowest score this season.

Rylie Shultz and Isabelle Wilson are finding their mid-season swing as they both carded a 72.

Maggie Davis and Arianna Chapman each recorded a 79.

WL-S will play Graham and Greeneview in a tri-match at Lakeland Golf Club on Thursday.

The Benjamin Logan varsity girls team lost to North Union 220-261 at Liberty Hills.

Leading the way for the Lady Raiders was Kensley Lacher who shot a 52. Kate Hahn scored a 66, Gianna Saunders chipped in a 74, and Malori Barnes carded a 69.

Benjamin Logan will compete against Graham on Thursday.

The Riverside varsity girls fell short to Russia, 243-246.

For the Lady Pirates, Reaghan McDaniel was a medalist with a 42 and Zoie Armbruster shot a 60.

In boys golf, the Riverside varsity team hosted Lehman Catholic in league play and lost 186-190.

Scoring for the Pirates was Jaxon Woods with a 41, Drew Jones had a 47, Gavin Robinson shot a 50, Reece Jenkins recorded a 52, Ayden Clary carded a 53, and Hayden McCully had a 57.

For Lehman Catholic, Noel Peterson was medalist with a 38, Henry Peterson carded a 43, Hezakiah Bezy shot a 49, Nicholas Wright had a 56, and Isabel Flores recorded a 58.
