Track and Field Teams have strong showing in Southwest District Prelims

The Southwest District Preliminaries were Thursday in Piqua.

After 3 events, the Bellefontaine Lady Chiefs are in second place, followed by Graham, Indian Lake, and Northwestern.

Heading into Saturday’s finals, the Top 8 Girls Team Scores are:

In the Field events, Indian Lake’s Ava Faler cleared 5-0 in the high jump, placing runner-up and advancing to regionals.

Bellefontaine’s Rylie Reames jumped 4’8″.

In Shot Put, Bellefontaine’s Kelsie Snapp set a D2 Division record of 41’ 6 1/4”.

Laker Terra Beltz threw a personal record of 31-5 in shot put, finishing fifth.

Benjamin Logan’s Autumn Cline placed fourth with a throw of 33-2.5 and qualified for Regionals.

Teammate Lahna Cook placed eighth (29-01).

In track events, for the Lakers, Addison Beck advanced to finals in the 100m dash with a time of 13.34, and the girls 4×200 team of Cameron Finfrock, Reagan Rash, Addison Beck and Piper Warnecke (1:54.69).

Benjamin Logan’s Abby Vance placed fourth (13.13).

In the 200, Bellefontaine’s Callie Shumaker placed second (27.03) to advance to tonight’s finals.

Ben Logan’s Vance (27.15) placed third, and Scarlett Elliott (28.26) came in fourth.

In the 400, Chieftain Jillian Ullom (1:04.18) came in fifth.

Bellefontaine’s 400 Relay team of Jillian Ullom, Kylie Adams, Callie Shumaker, Richiona Burnell (51.24) placed first in their race.

Benjamin Logan’s team of Nahla Payne, Ella Stoodt, Aleah France, and Storm Levan (53.67) came in fifth.

For the 4×200 relay, Benjamin Logan’s team of Ella Chamberlin, Ella Stoodt, Scarlett Elliott, and Abby Vance (1:49.80) placed second.

In the 300 Hurdles, Lady Chiefs Callie Shumaker (45.81) and Kylie Adams (47.58) took the top two spots, respectively.

In third was Kate Gulick of Benjamin Logan (49.84), and teammate Ella Chamberlin (51.89) finished in seventh.

It was a different outcome in the 100 Hurdles.

Bellefontaine’s Adams (15.69)came in second, and Shumaker (15.88)came in third.

Gulick (16.91) came in fifth for Ben Logan.

Bellefontaine’s 3200 Relay team of Kaeleigh Flora, Hannah Wilson, Kailyn Newman, and Grace Brown (10:23.72 SPR) placed fifth to qualify for the finals on Friday.

 

 

On the boys side of things, the Benjamin Logan Boys also competed on Thursday.

The Raiders are currently 8th with 8 points scored from 4 events.

Grahsyn Bailey finished 6th in the Pole Vault, clearing 11-06 (Season PR).

Jaxon Bowman finished 6th in the discus with a throw of  142 – 07.

Gus Bibart finished 8th in the discus with a throw of 137-04

The 4 x 800 relay team of Tyler Shoopman, Owen Jordan, Landon Zehner, and Eric Hughes finished 8th in 8:56.76.

Qualifying for Saturday’s finals were:

  • 4 x 200 relay team of Collin Powell, Davis Matthews, Candin Tucker, and Dylan Vance (1:33.47).
  • 4 x 100 relay team of Collin Powell, Wyatt Predmore, Carter Buck, and Everett Clapsaddle (45.08).
  • Tyler Shoopman in the 800 (2:11.16).
  • Dylan Vance in the 200 (23.26/PR).
