Laker varsity boys finish 3rd at Pioneer Classic; Indian Lake weekend wrestling results

The Indian Lake wrestling team saw success over the weekend.

The Laker varsity boys finished 3rd at the Olentangy Orange Pioneer Classic Saturday.

Champions from the event were Gavin Henry (126 lbs) and Owen Pummel (190 lbs).

Dylan Valerio (heavyweight) was runner up, Adrian Crumley (215 lbs) finished 3rd, Czar Dickson (138 lbs) was 4th, Keyshawn Blackwell (113 lbs), Tony Cummins (132 lbs), Taylor Clem (157 lbs), and Zander Davis all finished 5th and Jackson Young (150 lbs) took 6th.

Another group of Laker wrestlers competed at the Milton-Union Bulldog Invite Saturday and came in 4th.

Leading the way were champions Landen Wisener (144 lbs) and Chris Timms (heavyweight). Draden Stevenson (138 lbs) and Emery Wagner (215 lbs) were 3rd and Caleb Shafer (126 lbs), Heath Wilson (132 lbs), and Frankie Kinney all finished in 4th place for the Lakers.

Indian Lake will hit the mats again Saturday at the Coldwater High School Dual Tournament.

The Indian Lake girls’ team was in action Sunday at the Fostoria High School girls’ invitational.

Isabel Brunson (110 lbs), Reece Martin (115 lbs), and Tori Roby (170 lbs) each took home bronze medals. Kiylee Haude also won 2 matches to finish in 4th place.

Indian Lake’s Junior High wrestlers were in action Saturday at the Clyde Middle School Jacob Andrews Memorial Tournament.

The Lakers came in 5th out of 25 teams in the event led by champion Aaron Rapp (172 lb). Bronx Dickson (98 lb) and Jordan Henderson (104 lbs) both finished in 2nd. JJ Shirk (86 lbs) took 3rd, and Dawson Stevenson (128 lbs) finished 5th.
