Lakers Defeat North Union; Tigers Fall to Fairbanks


Hailee Edwards collected three hits in four at-bats, as the Indian Lake Lakers defeated North Union 9-1 on Wednesday.

Edwards singled in the first, fifth, and sixth innings.

The Lakers scored five runs in the sixth inning on the way to victory.

Porscha Davis doubled, scoring one run, Edwards singled, scoring one run, Mackenzie Dixon singled, scoring one run, and Halle Roby tripled, scoring one run.

The Lakers got on the board in the top of the third inning after Madison Brentlinger singled, Roby singled, and North Union committed an error, each scoring one run.

Brentlinger began the game for the Lake.

They gave six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.

Reese DeCamp stepped in the circle first for North Union.

The starting pitcher allowed 12 hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.

The Lakers tallied 12 hits in the game.

Brentlinger drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Lakers with three runs batted in.

The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day.

Both Roby girls collected multiple hits for Indian Lake.

Edwards stole three bases.

Indian Lake ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases in the game.

The Lake turned one double play in the game.

Next up for the Lakers, they play London on Friday.


The West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers lost against Fairbanks 11-1 Wednesday.

Whitney Strapp, Brielle Milliron, and Maddie Adkins each had a hit.

The Tigers will travel to Triad on Thursday.
