Lakers down Wapak, Pirates defeat Lehman in Thursday night softball

The Indian Lake Lakers easily dispatched Wapakoneta on Thursday, 8-1.
Indian Lake got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Annie Rapp singled to center field, and Mackenzie Dixon doubled to left field, each scoring one run.
Four more Laker runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 6-0. Abigail Elliott tripled, scoring one run, Addison Stinemetz homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Bre Wisener tripled, scoring one run.
Wisener earned the win for Indian Lake. The pitcher gave up seven hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Sofia Knife led things off in the circle for the Redskins, allowing eight hits and six runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking none.
Indian Lake garnished 11 hits in the game. Wisener led the Lakers with three hits in four at-bats at the lead-off spot. Rapp, Dixon, and Stinemetz each drove in two runs for the Lakers.
Olivia Allemeier led Wapakoneta Varsity Redskins with one run batted in. She went 1-for-3 on the day. Avery Sheipline, Ellie Prenger, Addison Fisher, Aubryn Schnarre, Shabryanna Worthington, and Knife each collected one hit for the Redskins.
Indian Lake welcomes Urbana on Friday for their next game. Wapakoneta hosts Celina.

There were runs aplenty on Thursday, as the Riverside Pirates defeated Lehman Catholic, 17-10.
The Pirates found themselves down 9-4 in the third, before rallying for the win.
An error put Lehman Catholic on the board in the top of the first.
Riverside tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a double by Aubree Huston and a single by Jaidyn Jackson.
The Cavaliers jumped back into the lead in the top of the second when Jenna Baker singled in a run, Layla Platfoot singled for two more runs, and an error scored another.
Keira Manahan homered to right field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second for Riverside.
Lehman Catholic added three runs in the third after Platfoot doubled to center field.
The Pirates flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring nine runs on five hits to take the lead, 14-9. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Emilee Robinson that drove in two.
Platfoot hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the sixth for the Lehman Catholic.
Keira Manahan earned the win for the Pirates. The pitcher surrendered two hits and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking none. Bailey Cotterman took the loss for Lehman Catholic. She went six innings, surrendering 17 runs (16 earned) on 15 hits, striking out none and walking seven. Riley Dillon stepped in the circle first for Riverside, giving up six hits and nine runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking two.
Riverside piled up 15 hits in the game. Huston drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Pirates with four RBIs. The infielder went 3-for-5 on the day. Taylor Dillon added three hits for Riverside. Jackson, Riley Dillon, and Jayden Hoffer each collected multiple hits. Riverside had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Brook Hunkler and Riley Dillon led the team with three walks each. Hunkler and Hoffer each stole multiple bases in the win.
Platfoot went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the Cavaliers with six runs batted in. Miley Heffelfinger collected two hits for Lehman Catholic in four at-bats.
Riverside Varsity Pirates will travel to Miami East for their next game on Friday. Lehman Catholic hosts Covington.

The Bellefontaine Chieftains couldn’t keep up with Graham and fell 13-2 on Thursday.
The Falcons jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Harlee Van Hoose singled in a run, Abigail Chamberlain drew a walk to score another, and Sophia Fraley singled in three more runs.
Graham scored five runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning. Aaliyah Chamberlain doubled in a run, Shannon Stahler drew a walk for another run, Brinlee Middleton also drew a walk to score a run, and an error scored two.
Kassi Prine stepped in the circle first for Bellefontaine. The hurler gave up 13 hits and 13 runs (seven earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking six. Van Hoose led things off in the circle for Graham, giving up six hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking four.
Laila Butler went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Chieftains. Prine and Butler each drove in one run. Prine stole two of the Chieftains’ four stolen bases for the game.
Graham gathered 13 hits in the game. Fraley led Graham with two RBI’s from the number eight spot. She went 3-for-3 on the day. Van Hoose and Chamberlain each added three hits for Graham. Makayla Mills also garnered multiple hits for the Falcons.
Next up for Bellefontaine is a game at Northwestern on Friday. Graham hosts Benjamin Logan on Monday.
