Lakers finish 6th at State Tournament; Lady Chiefs finish 2nd at District Bowling Meet


The girls Division II State bowling tournament was held yesterday in Columbus. Several local teams were there.

The top eight included Mechanicsburg (3rd), Indian Lake (6th), and Graham (8th).

The Bellefontaine Lady Chieftains punched their ticket to the Division I State Bowling Tournament yesterday by finishing 2nd at the district meet. Kayla Watkins led the way with a 561 series. Gracie Hood had a 534, Aubrey Hudson rolled a 525, Leyla Johnson had a 515, and Chloe Hemminger shot a 498.

The Lady Chiefs will bowl in the Division I State Tournament next weekend in Columbus. This is the third girls bowling team from Bellefontaine to qualify for state.
