The Lakers got off to a good start at the CBC Championships at Benjamin Logan High School on Wednesday.
The boys have scored 24 points. Quest Clay was 2nd in long jump (20-9.5 PR), Brody Parsell was 2nd in pole vault (12-0), and Christopher Timms placed 4th in discus (127-9).
The 4×800 relay team of Bryan Mohler, Silas Holbrook, Tony Cummins, and Cason Lacher placed 4th (9:04 PR).
The girls scored 20 (Updated) points.
Maddie Miller was 2nd in shot put (32-8), Reagan Rash was 3rd in the 1600 m run (5:34), Ava Faler was 5th in high jump (4-8), Terra Beltz was 5th in shot put (28-6.25), and the 4×800 relay team of KaiLea Miler, Hannah Metzger, Alicia Brielmaier and Evie Wagner placed 5th (11:23).
Several Lakers qualified for Friday’s finals.
Field events start at 4:30 pm and running events will begin at 5 pm.
The Benjamin Logan Boys Track Team competed on the first night of the CBC Finals at Benjamin Logan High School.
The Raiders finished the evening with two CBC champions.
Winning the 4 x 800 relay was the team of Eric Hughes, Tyler Shoopman, Landon Zehner, and Eli Rhodes with a season PR time of 8:37.22.
Also, winning a CBC title was Grahsyn Bailey in the Pole Vault by clearing 12’6″ and matching his season PR.
Gus Bibart placed 5th in the discus and set a new PR with a throw of 127′ 1″.
Collin Powell placed 5th in the Long Jump with a jump of 20’1″.
Tyler Shoopmand and Eric Hughes placed 5th and 6th respectively in 1600 at 5:01.79 and 5:06.21.
Placing top 8 in the Prelims and qualifying for the finals on Friday night were:
- 100: Collin Powell – 11.52 and Candin Tucker – 11.92 (PR)
- 200: Carter Buck – 23.65 (PR) and Dylan Vance – 24.07
- 110 H: Carter Buck – 17.56 and Josh Rich – 17.83 (PR)

Day 2 field events will be Boys High Jump and Shot Put.
The girl’s field events will be Discus, Long Jump, and Pole Vault.
The running events will begin with the 100-meter hurdles.
