Lakers outpower Kenton Ridge for big CBC win; Other teams have mixed results

The Indian Lake Lakers showed why they’re one of the best in the CBC Tuesday night as they handed the Cougars of Kenton Ridge a heavy loss, 82-63.

Led by Junior guard Avery Pequinot’s 30 points, the Lakers held a commanding lead from tip-off to the final buzzer. Indian Lake head coach Zach Overturf was pleased with his boys’ performance.

Sophomore star Brodey Reisinger pitched in 20 for the Lakers, who are now 9-6 overall (6-1 in conference play).

Kenton Ridge falls to 8-9 overall (2-5 in the CBC).

 

The JV Lakers fell to Kenton Ridge 70-39.

Braden Tussing led the Lake with 10 points.

 

The West Liberty-Salem Varsity boys basketball team edged out Greenon 51-47 in a close contest.

Caleb Hershberger led the Tigers with 14 points, while Isaiah Reames contributed 13 points.

Sutton Wilcoxon added 8 points, and Beckett Sullivan finished with 7.

The Tigers’ JV team also triumphed, defeating Greenon 50-30.

Conner Leichty and Asher Cole each scored 9 points to lead the team.

West Liberty-Salem’s next game will be on Friday, January 31st, at home against Triad.

Bellefontaine’s boys varsity team traveled to Springfield Shawnee for a Central Buckeye Conference (CBC) matchup but came up short, losing 60-50.

The Chieftains are now 8-8 on the season.

Jair Mundy led Bellefontaine with 16 points, while Jacob Salyer added 13 and Grayson Lotts finished with 10.

In the JV contest, Bellefontaine triumphed 45-36, with Sutton Daring leading the way with 14 points.

The Chieftains travel to Tecumseh for another CBC contest this Friday night.

Riverside’s Freshman team had a heartbreaking overtime loss to Lehman Catholic, 39-35, after the game was tied at 33-33 at the end of regulation.

Laithen Snyder led Riverside with 14 points and 4 steals.

Aiden Fout added 7 points and 7 rebounds, while Garrett Purtee contributed 7 points and 2 assists.

In JV action, Riverside came out on top, defeating Lehman Catholic, 37-24.

Syler Clark led the charge with 13 points and 7 rebounds, while Camden Shoe added 6 points and 2 rebounds.

However, the Riverside Varsity team fell to Lehman Catholic, 66-45.

Hayden Sanford led Riverside with 11 points, 4 steals, and a block, while Jaxon Woods contributed 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Benjamin Logan hosted Jonathan Alder on Tuesday night but was defeated 74-20.

Camden Spriggs led the Raiders with 6 points, and Roman Maxwell added 5.

The JV team also struggled, losing 61-39.

Diesel Baughman led the JV squad with 9 points, while Xavier Allen chipped in with 7.
