Dominik Stotler had 10 points, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Ayden Clary had 10 points and 4 rebounds. Kaleb Schindelwolf and Jaxon Woods had 9 each, while Gavin Orsborne had 8 points.Riverside also won the JV contest as well, 52-31.Reese Jenkins led the Pirates with 15 points and 6 rebounds, Houston Anderson tallied 9 points, 6 steals, and 4 assists, Dylan Burchett had 11 points, 7 boards, and a block, Carter Kreglow brought down 9 rebounds and 2 blocks, and Damien Smith netted 4 points, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.Girls basketballTriad lost to Elgin 53-44.For the Lady Cardinals, Abbey Overfield had 14 points. Ashlyn McCoy had 9 points and 11 rebounds, and Emma Ferguson added 8 points.Triad also fell to Elgin in the JV contest 40-21.Hannah Russell had 17 points, Mya James collected 10 rebounds, and Arlo Monroe pulled down 9 boards.Bellefontaine held off Urbana 56-53.Lexi Robinson paced the Lady Chiefs with 18 points and 11 rebounds, Alexza Clifton had 14 points, 5 boards, and 4 steals, Parker Penhorwood added 11 points and 4 assists, Tiffany Boop tallied 5 points, Quinlan Zedeker chipped in with 4 points, 3 assists, and 5 steals, and Karys Varner had 4 points.Urbana’s Peyton Mounce scored a game-high 29 points.The Chiefs are now (2-1) while the Hillclimbers fall to (1-2).The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls fell to Russia 59-33.For the Lady Tigers, Bailey Poppe led with 13 points, Lilly Weaver had 9, Chaley Wade tallied 8, Addie McAuley had 2 and Ava Astroino scored a point.West Liberty-Salem is now (1-1) on the season, while Russia stays unbeaten at (4-0).Russia also won the JV contest 30-21.Ava Johnson and Maddie McGill each scored 8 points in the effort for WL-S.Middle School girlsRiverside 7th grade lost to Bethel 24 to 18.Molly Carman had 8 points and 13 rebounds, Kenzie Stotler had 8 points and 5 rebounds, and Chloe Purtee had 2 points and 5 rebounds.Riverside is 0-2 (0-1 conference).Riverside 8th grade beat Bethel 26-22.Miah Carman had 6 points and 10 rebounds, Kenna Johnson had 11 points and 8 rebounds, Madelyn Lemly had 7 points, and Keira Manahan had 7 rebounds.Riverside outrebounded Bethel 30-23.Riverside improves to 2-0 (1-0 in the conference).
