Several area high school golf teams hit the course Friday, competing in invitationals and dual matches across the region.
The Bellefontaine Lady Chieftains participated in the Falcon Invite at Lakeland Golf Club, finishing 7th out of 11 teams with a team score of 497.
Gillian Steele led the way with a 115, followed by Olivia Dearwester (121), Elliett Lang (128), Allison Myers (133), and Thessaly Reminder (138).
The Lady Chiefs return to league play Monday at London Country Club.
West Liberty-Salem’s Lady Tigers turned in a strong performance at the Graham Invitational, finishing 4th out of 11 teams.
Olivia Reichert placed 5th out of 52 golfers, and Geneva Estep finished 8th overall.
In boys action, Riverside traveled to Homestead Golf Course and came up short against Milton-Union, 202–172.
Hayden McCully led the Pirates with a 43. He was followed by Hayden Sanford (48), Syler Clark (53), Zane Armbruster and David Gross (58), and Karston Duckro (71).
