Area athletes delivered standout performances at the 2025 Mid-East Cross Country Championships held Saturday, November 15, at the challenging Indian Riffle Park course in Kettering, Ohio.
In the boys’ race, West Liberty-Salem senior Caleb Larson placed 8th overall, clocking an impressive 16:16.32 against a field of 36 elite runners representing four states. Larson’s finish played a key role in helping Team Ohio secure its first Mid-East team title since 2013, breaking a 12-year drought and marking a major milestone for the state squad.

On the girls’ side, Mechanicsburg seniors Clair and Isabelle Rodgers proudly represented Ohio with strong finishes in a competitive field of 35 runners.
- Clair Rodgers placed 33rd with a time of 19:55.82
- Isabelle Rodgers finished 35th in 20:29.95
The Rodgers sisters closed out their high school cross country careers on one of the region’s biggest postseason stages, competing against top senior runners from across the Midwest.
The Mid-East Championships continue to serve as a showcase for standout seniors, and this year’s event highlighted the depth and talent of local programs. Larson’s top-10 finish and Ohio’s team victory underscored a memorable day for the Buckeye State.
