Monday was a stacked night in high school soccer.
Indian Lake Soccer:
– Boys: Indian Lake secured a 2-1 victory over Kenton Ridge. Chase Schaub scored with an assist from Stevie Spofford, and Avery Pequignot added a penalty kick. The win improves Indian Lake’s record to 7-1 for the season.
– Girls: The Lady Lakers fell to Kenton Ridge 5-1. Harly Kinninger scored the lone goal for Indian Lake.
Benjamin Logan Soccer:
– Boys: The varsity team was defeated 6-2 by Jon Alder. The Raiders initially took the lead with a goal from Aidan Todd, assisted by Eric Hughes. However, Jon Alder equalized just before halftime and dominated the second half. Todd later converted a penalty, but it wasn’t enough. Despite the loss, the Raiders broke Jon Alder’s four-game shutout streak. Benjamin Logan will face Springfield Shawnee on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
West Liberty-Salem Soccer:
– Girls Varsity: The Tigers lost 3-0 to Anna. Audrey Collins had a strong performance in goal with 16 saves. The Tigers are now 4-4 for the season and 2-2 in conference play. They will travel to Lehman Catholic next Monday with a 5:30 PM kickoff.
– Girls JV: The JV team was defeated 4-0 by Anna’s JV squad. Kaylee Blair recorded 5 saves, and the Tigers managed to keep the Rockets scoreless in the second half. The JV girls will play Miami East on September 30 at 5:30 PM.
– Boys: West Liberty-Salem edged out Emmanuel Christian 2-0. Lance Campbell scored in the first half with an assist from Isaiah Reminder, and Isaiah Reames added a goal in the second half. Goalkeeper Tucker Searles achieved his third consecutive shutout with 4 saves. The Tigers, now 6-2-1, will face Ben Logan this Saturday at 12:30 PM.
Calvary Spartans Soccer:
– The Varsity team dominated Miami Valley with a 7-0 win. Junior Nehemiah Dillon led with a hat trick, and Trent Comer added two goals. Senior Captain Daniel Young and Junior Tanner Hurley also scored. Young contributed an assist, and Senior Goalkeeper Preston Carnes recorded his 7th shutout of the season. The Spartans are now 8-1-1 and will play Fairlawn on the road Thursday.
Bellefontaine Soccer:
– The Lady Chiefs fell to Northwestern last night, 4-0. Northwestern improved to 6-1. The Lady Chiefs are now 2-7.
