Mechanicsburg responded with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, highlighted by an RBI single from Chuckie Dale and an RBI double from Aubrie Retterer to cut the deficit to 4-2.

A sacrifice fly and RBI groundout helped cut the deficit to 7-3.

The Jets responded with three runs in the third and added five more in the fourth to extend their lead. Triad continued to battle, picking up an RBI single from Jenkins in the fourth and adding two more runs in the fifth off back-to-back doubles from Emma Enochs and Savannah Thomas.
