Local Track and Field Stars Qualify for Finals

Thursday, the Lady Raiders opened the Regional Championships with 10 athletes in 7 events.

Results for the first day of competition are as follows.

The top 8 places qualify for Saturday finals.

  • 4×800 relay – 14th place – 10:30.70-Georgia Bates, Lexi Archer, Hadley Boysel, and Mylee Boysel
  • 100 high Hurdles: 1st place – Isabel Henderson,14.96, School Record. Qualified to Finals. Isabel broke her own school record.
  • 4×200 relay – 15th place- 1:51.04-Ella Chamberlin, Mya Burrey, Storm LeVan, Abby Vance
  • 300 low hurdles: 2nd place – Isabel Henderson, 44.62, School Record. Qualified to Finals. Isabel broke the school record of,44.83, set by Lauren Anderson in 2007.

The meet will continue on Saturday with the field events beginning at 11:00 am and running to begin at 12:30 pm.

The Benjamin Logan Boys Track team competed in two events Thursday night at the Regional meet in Piqua.

Grashyn Bailey finished 12th in the pole vault with a vault of 11’6”.

The 4 x 200 relay team of Collin Powell, Ben Chamberlain, Carter Buck, and Dylan Vance ran a 1:30.58 to finish 8th and qualify for the Regional finals on Saturday.

The 4 x 200 relay will compete on Saturday in the Regional finals at 12:55.

Indian Lake competed at the regional prelims.

Quest Clay qualified to state in long jump with a PR jump of 21-0.

Clay also qualified for Saturday’s finals in the 100 m dash.

Brody Parsell also competed in pole vault but did not advance.

Congratulations to Brody on a terrific season that ended jumping against top-notch pole vaulters at the Regional meet!

For the Bellefontaine Chieftains, Hayden Manns is the best discus competitor from Cincinnati to Napoleon in boy’s D2 track and field.

His first toss in the finals of 159’ 7” was a winner.

Kelsie Snapp, on her last attempt in the finals, catapulted over 4 other girls to capture regional runner-up honors and a state berth.

  • 10th- Boys 3200 relay 8:22.35 (Hayden Maus, Tony Stewart, Wes Dunn, Seth Taylor) PR

Qualifying to Saturday Finals (w/ seed)

  • 100 Hurdles – 4. Kylie Adams 15.88
  • 400 Relay – 2. Parker Penhorwood, Kylie Adams, Ava Reeves, Callie Shumaker 49.61 PR
  • 300 Hurdles – 1. Kylie Adams 44.51; 3. Callie Shumaker 46.02 (Both Season bests)
  • 200 – 3. Ava Reeves 25.56 SPR

The remaining field events, distance races, and sprint finals will begin next Saturday at 11:00 am field and 12:30 pm running at Piqua.
