Local Track and Field Teams start strong at CBC Championships

Divisional Prelims began on Tuesday for the Central Buckeye Conference Track and Field Championships this week at Kenton Ridge.

Mad River Division Girls Team Scores with 4 of 17 events completed:

Indian Lake track and field teams competed Mad River Division prelims on Tuesday. Many Lakers advanced to finals on Friday.

Placing runner-up was Ava Faler in high jump (5-0)

Scoring third was Maddie Miller in shot put (31-2) and the 4×800 relay team of Evie Wagner, Myiah Ankrom, Cameron Finfrock and Reagan Rash (10:38)

Scoring fifth was Terra Beltz in shot put (30-8 PR)

Scoring sixth was Addison Beck in high jump (4-8)

The boys have 19 points after 5 events scored.

Scoring third was the 4×800 relay team of Carson Clary, Bryan Mohler, Cason Lacher, and Aiden Stinebaugh (8:44)

Scoring third was Will Faler in pole vault (10-0)

Scoring fourth was Aiden Stinebaugh in the 3200 m run (11:34 PR) and Quest Clay in long jump (20-0.25).

For Benjamin Logan, several Lady Raiders also advanced.

Scoring fourth in the 3200-meter relay: Lexi Archer, Nora Elliott, Estella Wenger, and Gwen Smith (10:56.19)

High Jump: – Madi Oaks (4-06), Ella Chamberlin (4-04).

Scoring second in Shot Put was Autumn Cline (32-00), Lahna Cook (27-08.50) also qualified.

Placing sixth in the 3200 Run: Gwendolyn Smith (13:40).

Qualifying to Friday’s finals for the Lady Raiders:

100 High Hurdles: In 2nd place, Kate Gulick (16.63), Storm Levan (19.48) placed 6th.
100 Dash: In 4th place was Abby Vance (13.05), 7th place went to Ella Stoodt (13.85).
400 Dash: In 3rd place again was Abby Vance (1:04.62), Aleah France (1:05.13) came in 6th.
300 Low Hurdles: Kate Gulick (50.98) came in 2nd place followed by 3rd Ella Chamberlin (51.59) at 3rd.
200 Dash: 5th place went to Abby Vance (26.86), and 6th went to Scarlett Elliott (27.11).

“We had a good evening, ” explains Coach Ben Davis. “Several PRs out of our team. We scratched and clawed our way to the finals. We were on the plus side of things. Two champion throwers was a great boost. Two high jump runner-up girls set the stage. Friday finals will be exciting.”

The Benjamin Logan Boys’ Track team competed on the first day of the CBC league meet.

The Raiders are currently in third place after five scored events.

The Raiders qualified two runners for the finals in four of the five events that ran prelims.

The 4 x 800 relay team of Tyler Shoopman, Owen Jordan, Landon Zehner, and Eric Hughes won the league title with a time of 8:33.80.
