Indian Lake and Bellefontaine Rivals Clash
In a highly anticipated matchup on August 27, 2024, Bellefontaine hosted Indian Lake, with the Chiefs emerging victorious in three straight sets: 25-13, 25-22, 25-18. Taylor Banta was a standout for Bellefontaine, contributing 10 kills, 3 blocks, and 2 aces. Ava Reeves added 10 digs and was 14/15 serving. Kelsie Snapp and Ava Campbell also played key roles with 9 kills and 4 kills, respectively. Madi Zedeker tallied 22 assists and 5 digs. Bellefontaine improves to 3-1 for the season.
The Indian Lake Lakers, who had been undefeated prior to this game, were led by Halle Roby with 5 kills and 11 assists. Kenzie Dixon contributed 3 kills and 20 digs, while Riley Ross had 18 digs and was perfect in serving. Indian Lake will face Tecumseh at home on Thursday, now standing at 4-1.

JV Teams Show Strong Performances
In the junior varsity match, Bellefontaine also secured a win over Indian Lake with scores of 25-14 and 25-21. Kaeleigh Flora led with 15 kills and 17 digs. Ava Oppy contributed 17 digs and perfect serving with an ace, while Alayna Boyd added 13 assists, 6 kills, and 2 aces. The Chiefs’ JV team is now 4-1.
Indian Lake’s JV team also displayed strong efforts despite the loss, with notable performances from Ady Oldiges and Bre Wisener, who had multiple kills and assists.
West Liberty-Salem Faces Fairbanks
West Liberty-Salem hosted Fairbanks for an OHC match, falling short with scores of 15-25, 24-26, and 13-25. Naomi Cole led the Tigers with 11 kills and 7 aces. Other contributors included Londyn Loveless with 11 assists and 4 digs, and Kiersten Stoll with 2 kills and 9 digs. The Tigers are now 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the OHC.
Benjamin Logan Dominates Calvary Christian
In another local match, Benjamin Logan defeated Calvary Christian in straight sets, 25-6, 25-5, 25-9. Makayla Williamson led with 9 kills, and Autumn Cline contributed 19 assists. Benjamin Logan will face Bellefontaine High School at home on Thursday at 6:30 PM.
Lady Pirates in League Action
The Lady Pirates fell to the Bethel Bees in their first league game, with scores of 12-25, 15-25, and 22-25. Jayden Hoffer led with 4 kills and a perfect serving performance. Miah Carman added 3 blocks, and Aubree Huston recorded 21 digs. The JV team also lost in two sets, with Shaye McGill achieving 3 aces and 5 digs.
