The Mad River United FC Pink Girls came out strong on Monday evening, securing a 2-0 victory over Upper Arlington United in a competitive match held in Bellefontaine.
Maddy Wood got things started early for MRUFC, finding the back of the net to open up the scoring.
Shortly after, Violet Dunham added a second goal, giving the Pink Girls a solid 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
While Upper Arlington United tightened their defense and managed to hold Mad River scoreless in the second half, the early offensive effort proved enough to seal the win.
Mad River’s success was anchored by a standout defensive performance.
The back line—composed of Lily Dunham, Layla Davis, Gabby Thompson, Peyton Pogue, Josie Harshfield, Gigi Davis, and Maddy Wood—kept UAU’s offense in check throughout the game, preserving the clean sheet.
MRUFC will return to action next week in a matchup against the Columbus Force Snipers.
