McDaniel sets record as Riverside golf teams compete

The Riverside boys and girls golf teams were in action Monday, with strong individual performances despite challenging competition.

The boys team traveled to Mercer County Golf Course, falling to New Bremen by a score of 184 to 192.

Hayden McCully led the Pirates and claimed match medalist honors with a score of 40.

Other Riverside scores included Syler Clark (49), David Gross (50), Hayden Sanford (53), Zane Armbruster (56), Daniel Esh (62), and Karston Duckro (78).

On the girls side, the Lady Pirates took part in the Covington Lady Bucc Invitational, finishing 13th out of 17 teams with a total score of 451.

Senior Reaghan McDaniel made Riverside history, shooting a record-breaking 76 to finish third out of 89 golfers.

Adalynn Calaway posted a personal best of 109—an 11-stroke improvement—and also set a new 9-hole record with a 50 on the back nine.

Lei Hurley added her own milestones, carding a 122 overall and a career-best 57 on the back.

Whitney Leatherman finished with a 144, and Grace Owen shot 161.
