The Mechanicsburg girls bowling team turned in a strong performance Saturday, finishing third at the Buckeye Classic Tournament held at HP Lanes in Columbus.
The Lady Indians placed fourth in the qualifying round to advance to the championship bracket. In match play, Mechanicsburg defeated Marysville before falling to St. Mary’s in the semifinals, securing a third-place overall finish.
Mechanicsburg was led by Ashton Waller, who rolled games of 142, 158, and 190 for a 490 series. Waller’s effort earned her a fifth-place individual finish and a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Other contributors for the Lady Indians included Briana Popovich with a 416 series (116, 147, 153), McKenzi Picklesimer with a 402 (121, 130, 151), Kenzie Chester with a 399 (127, 161, 111), and Haley Alty with a 364 (133, 129, 102).
