Middle School Teams Compete Over Weekend

The Indian Lake 7th grade boys basketball team fell to the Anna Rockets on Saturday, losing 46-13 at home.

Miller Hall led the Lakers with 10 points, while Fletcher Brown contributed a three-pointer.

Broxyn Emrick was active on the boards, securing multiple rebounds.

 

The 8th-grade boys from Indian Lake also faced Anna on Saturday, losing a close contest 45-41.

Rush Hurley led all scorers with 16 points, including four three-pointers.

Nixon Lillard added 15 points to the Lakers’ effort, and Alex Tussing chipped in 6 points.

Indian Lake will travel to Bellefontaine for their second matchup of the season on Monday, with tip-off set for 5:30 PM.

 

Bellefontaine’s 5th-grade boys basketball team earned two victories over the weekend.

On Saturday, they defeated Indian Lake 38-13.

Jonathan Harvey scored 10 points to lead the Chiefs, with Dustin Rogan adding 9.

The following day, Bellefontaine triumphed over Graham 44-2, with Theo Vigansky scoring 12 points and Drayden Lyburtus contributing 10.

Bellefontaine will host North Union on Wednesday at the high school, with games starting at 5:30 PM.

 

West Liberty-Salem 5th grade boys defeated Triad 32-8 on Saturday and Indian Lake 23-10 on Sunday.

In the Triad game, Braxton Louden led the Tigers with 10 points, Isaac Fallon netted 7, Jack Troyer 4, Maddux Dobberstein 4, Parker Knight 4, Ozzy Anders, and Brantley Eickhoff chipped in 1 point.

During the  Indian Lake game, again Braxton Louden led the Tigers scoring 9 points, Isaac Fallon added 6, Jackson Barth 4, Ozzy Anders 2, and Maddux Dobberstein scored 2 points.

 

The West Liberty Salem 6th Grade Girls Basketball team improved to 2-0 this weekend with wins over Triad 24-19 and Indian Lake 20-16.

Zoey Richardson paced the Tigers against Triad with 14 points, but Izzy Jones and Chloe Staten came up big in the 4th to score 6 and 4 respectively to seal the victory.

The defense in the 4th proved to be the difference maker with Mariah Fish and Iris Meister making it hard for the Cardinals to get any offense going and closing the game on a 10-2 run.

Chloe Staten helped lead the Tigers passed the Lakers with 12 points while Zoey Richardson added 4 and Izzy Jones and Kennedy Logwood chipped in 2 points each.

Again the defense proved to be the difference with Ava Prater and Quinn Moore stepping up with several stops and steals to seal the victory for the Tigers.

The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday vs. Ben Logan and North Union.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade boys defeated Mechanicsburg 45-26.

Leading the Tigers was Brandel Sullivan who scored 12 points.

Isaiah Barth and Grant Krabill each scored 9 points, Eli Jones netted 8, Tyler Hershberger added 5, and Nate Shively scored 2.
