Indian Lake Middle School (ILMS)
The Indian Lake Middle School cross-country teams showcased their talents at the Bob Schul Invitational hosted at Milton Union on Saturday. The girls’ team finished 14th overall, with standout performances from Abby Bihn and Laura Metzger. Bihn earned a personal best with a 13th-place finish in 13:44, while Metzger placed 24th with a time of 14:11. Caroline Jones also achieved a personal record of 16:16, placing 105th. Other notable finishes included Allison Overmyer (125th, 16:37), Karlee Taylor (203rd, 19:15), Lara Hagedorn (242nd, 21:43, PR), Olivia Albert (252nd, 23:13, PR), and Abby Arnett (259th, 24:33, first race).
For the boys’ team, Hayden Kuhlke placed 125th with a personal best of 13:55. Nathan White, competing in his first race, finished 157th with a time of 14:25. Dalton Young achieved a personal record with a 234th-place finish in 15:42, while Evan Wu, also making his debut, placed 323rd with a time of 18:27. The teams are set to compete next at the Logan County Kiwanis Championships on Tuesday, August 27, at Ben Logan High School.
Bellefontaine Middle School (BMS)
The Bellefontaine Middle School (BMS) cross-country teams also demonstrated strong performances at the Celina Invitational. The girls’ team secured 9th place out of 22 teams. Chloe O’Chocke and Cameo Greene led the way with individual awards, finishing 21st and 28th, respectively. Full results for the girls’ team were:

The BMS boys’ team excelled with a 7th-place finish out of 24 teams. Andrew Myers led the Chiefs with a personal best time of 12:08, placing 9th out of 155 runners. Sennett Stolly and Jackson Maus also earned individual awards, finishing 15th and 38th, respectively. Full results for the boys’ team were:

Benjamin Logan Middle School
The Benjamin Logan Middle School cross-country teams delivered impressive performances at the Northwestern Invitational on Saturday.
The girls’ team secured a strong 3rd place out of 12 competing teams. Paislee Rodenberger led the Raiders with a top-10 finish, placing 10th among 61 runners with a time of 15:31. Supporting Rodenberger, Makinnly Allen finished 27th, Illy Vermillion placed 34th, Elizabeth Bramlage came in 41st, and Mia Ortiz rounded out the scoring in 49th.
The boys’ team also showcased their talent, finishing 4th out of 11 teams. Quinn Kuba led the charge with a time of 14:00, securing 17th place among 60 runners. Kayde Vanbuskirk finished 34th, while Zayden Wilson and Brooks Bodin achieved new personal records, finishing 35th and 41st, respectively. Miles Grandbois completed the scoring in 52nd place.
The Raiders will look to build on their successes as they prepare for the Logan County Meet on Tuesday, August 27, to be held at Benjamin Logan.
West Liberty-Salem
The boys’ team placed 5th out of 29 teams, led by Aydan Knox who finished 8th with a time of 11:34. Eric Hoover and Everett Brooks also contributed with finishes of 17th and 28th, respectively. The girls’ team secured 11th place among 25 teams, with Charlee Albers leading the way in 29th place (14:21). Mia Dooley and Elin Leichty followed closely, finishing 30th and 41st. Both teams showed strong effort and sportsmanship, setting a positive tone for the rest of the season.
