Middle School Cross Country Teams Shine at Early Bird Invitational

The Benjamin Logan Middle School cross-country teams showcased strong performances at their Early Bird Invitational on Tuesday.

The boys’ team secured a commendable second place out of six teams. Quinn Kuba led the Raiders with a 7th place finish, completing the two-mile course in 13:45. He was followed by Kayde VanBuskirk (15th), Zayden Wilson (19th), Hunter Winnen (21st), and Brooks Bodin (22nd).

The girls’ team finished fourth out of five teams. Paislee Rodenberger was the top performer, finishing 6th with a time of 14:26. The scoring was completed by Makinnly Allen (12th), Elizabeth Bramladge (16th), Illy Vermillion (21st), and Mia Ortiz (26th). The Raiders will compete again on Saturday at Northwestern High School.

Indian Lake Middle School’s cross-country teams also had a strong showing at the Benjamin Logan Early Bird. The girls’ team earned the runner-up trophy with 63 points. Abby Bihn finished 4th with a time of 14:10, and Laura Metzger placed 5th with a time of 14:16, both earning individual medals. Other notable finishes included Caroline Jones (17th, 16:56), Allison Overmyer (20th, 17:26), Karlee Taylor (25th, 18:33), Lara Hagedorn (32nd, 23:32), and Olivia Albert (33rd, 23:39).

For the boys’ team, Hayden Kuhlke finished 10th with a time of 14:32, earning an individual medal. Dalton Young placed 25th with a time of 17:12.

The ILMS runners will next compete at the Bob Schul Invitational at Milton Union on Saturday, August 24th.
