Middle School Girls Basketball: Indian Lake, Bellefontaine, and West Liberty-Salem

The Indian Lake 7th-grade girls basketball team lost to Bellefontaine 27-20 in a hard-fought game.

The game was tied 11-11 at halftime and the Chiefs used a strong 3rd quarter to pull ahead.

Kyler Carruthers led the Lakers scoring 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.

Audra Harford scored 4 points and had 5 rebounds while Laura Metzger scored 2 points and had 10 rebounds.

Leading the Chiefs was Lexey Brown who scored 14 points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

Mia Brown chipped in 12 points and added 5 rebounds on the night.

Cameo Greene, Annie Clem, and Paxton Stewart combined for 8 rebounds in a physical effort.

 

The 8th-grade Indian Lake girls team defeated Bellefontaine 20-15 in overtime.

The Lakers played great team defense holding the Chiefs scoreless in overtime.

Alivia Kinney scored 6 points, had 6 rebounds and 7 steals.  Brylee Buyer and Rya Pequignot scored 5 points each.

Tabby Thomas led the Chiefs with 7 points and 4 rebounds.

Ava Oppy added 4 points and four rebounds.

Amari Hunsicker added two and Joy Fogan added two and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Lakers play at home on Saturday at 9:00 versus Anna.

 

The West Liberty-Salem girls 7th-grade team lost a close one to Northeastern 15-16.

Leading the Tigers was Karlee Luxas scoring 10 points, Emily King added 4, and Ella Jacobs netted 1 point.

They will take the floor again Monday night against Mechanicsburg.

 

West Liberty-Salem’s 8th-grade girls team defeated Northeastern 43-17.

Leading the Tigers: Lucy Cole netted 10 points, Addi Wallen 9, Arianna Weaver & Ellery Wygal added 8 points, Isla Leichty 6, and Nevaeh Gravely scored 2 points.
