Middle School Hoops: Spartans, Chiefs, Raiders, Hillclimbers & Tigers


The Calvary Spartans Jr. High girls basketball team lost to Emmanuel Christian on Tuesday 11-37.

Scoring for the Spartans were Mazie Worley and Reagan Roell with 3 points each, Caroline Moore and Maddie Jo Campbell added 2 points, and Madelyn Carter netted 1 point.


In a defensive struggle, the 7th grade Lady Chiefs lost to Jonathan Alder 14-6.

Points were limited but the Lady Chiefs used a strong defensive effort to keep the Pioneers close.

The Lady Chiefs created 9 steals with 5 different t players creating turnovers via the steal.

Paxton Stewart led the Lady Chiefs with 3 points while Lexey and Mia Brown rounded out the scoring.

The 7th grade falls to 9-4 on the year and will host Wapak on Saturday at 10 AM.

A strong defensive fourth quarter secured the victory for the 8th grade Lady Chiefs Thursday, 33-17 against Jonathan Alder.

Sloan Stolly paced the Chiefs with 14 points, 9 steals, and two assists.

Tabby Thomas chipped in with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Ava Oppy added 6 points, 7 rebounds, 7 steals and 2 assists.

Vanessa Fredrick added 2 points and 3 rebounds.

Joy Fogan added 2 points and 4 rebounds.

Hailey Agustus, Ximena Marquez, and Lyla Conner added solid defensive minutes.

The ladies return to action Saturday morning against Wapak.


7th grade Lady Raiders lost a crazy game to Kenton Ridge where they found themselves down to 4 players because of foul trouble.

They fought hard but came up short 26-20.

Brielle Kline led the way with 10 points.

8th grade Lady Raiders started slow again on the road.

They did battle all night in a physical game that went back and forth til the end of regulation and overtime but lost to Kenton Ridge on a 3 in the final 15 seconds 25-23.

Daylin Varner led the way with 10 points.

Their final regular season home game will be Monday at 530 PM versus Tecumseh.


The 7th-grade Benjamin Logan boys basketball team defeated Kenton Ridge 38-17.

Several Raiders led the offense and defense:

  • Carrick Spriggs-12 points and 10 rebounds
  • Brantley Karn- 5 points
  • Colten Little- 4 points
  • Karson McCoy- 2 points and 6 rebounds
  • A.J. Bergman- 2 points
  • Brock Bates- 1 point and 3 steals

The win moves the Raiders to 8-4.

The 8th-grade boys basketball team defeated Kenton Ridge 51-40.

The Raiders will be back in action on Saturday hosting Riverside.


The Urbana 8th grade boys basketball team was defeated by London 52-32.

Drew Dixon with 12 and Braxten Spriggs with 10 points.

Urbana’s 7th grade boys team defeated London 43-23.

Breylon Potter with 11, Mekhi Peterson with 11, and Carter Houseman with 10 points.
