Monday night was a busy night in Middle School Basketball.
Benjamin Logan 7th Grade Girls:
The Benjamin Logan 7th grade girls basketball team earned a 30-19 win over Shawnee, improving their season record to 9-1. Addy Leonard led the team with 17 points, 3 steals, and 1 block. Mica Coaty contributed 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal. Michaelee Hoge added 3 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block. Layla Schneider had 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals, while Julianna Chapman grabbed 6 rebounds and 1 steal.
Benjamin Logan 8th Grade Girls:
The 8th-grade girls basketball team won 38-31 against Shawnee, improving their record to 7-3. Brielle Kline had a standout game with 18 points and 2 assists. Jozie Taylor scored 12 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and added 1 steal. Paislee Rodenberger contributed 4 points, 8 steals, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds. Marley Shields chipped in with 4 points and 2 rebounds.
Benjamin Logan 7th Grade Boys:
The 7th grade team faced a tough loss, falling 39-14. Luke Long led the team with 5 points, Nevada Coleman, Harlen Davis, Preston Mikes, and Zayden Wilson each added two points, and Carter Nangle netted 1.
Benjamin Logan 8th Grade Boys:
The Raiders fought hard for their victory against Shawnee, overcoming multiple lead changes and intense pressure. Micah Gregg was a standout performer, recording 19 points and 17 rebounds, while Carrick Spriggs and Brantley Karn each scored 11 points. Gabe Predmore also contributed with 5 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Colton Little, Karson McCoy, and Ashe Moorehouse played key roles in the team’s defensive success, each contributing a steal. With the victory, the 8th-grade Raiders improved their record to 7-2 and are now looking ahead to their upcoming home game against Kenton.
West Liberty-Salem 7th Grade Girls:
The WL-S 7th grade girls basketball team remains undefeated at 9-0 after a dominant 45-7 win over Fairbanks. They will next play at home on Saturday, January 18th, at 5:30 PM against Madison Plains.
West Liberty-Salem 8th Grade Girls:
The WL-S 8th grade girls basketball team won 37-32 against Fairbanks, improving their record to 6-4. The girls will travel to West Jefferson for a game on Thursday, January 16th, at 5:30 PM. There will be no 7th-grade game.
West Liberty-Salem 7th Grade Boys:
The 7th grade boys team lost to Bethel, with a final score of 54-10.
West Liberty-Salem 8th Grade Boys:
The WL-S 8th grade boys team fell to Fairbanks, 52-40. Brandel Sullivan led the team with 22 points, followed by Isaiah Barth with 6 points. Grant Krabill, Tyler Hershberger, Eli Jones, Rylan Leichty, and Nate Shivley contributed with points as well.
