Middle School runners rack up PRs and medals

The Bellefontaine Middle School boys placed 4th out of 17 teams at the Wapak Night Meet.

Every runner posted a personal record (PR) or season best (SB).

Jackson Maus led the team, breaking 12 minutes for the first time with an 11:57 PR, earning 3rd overall in a field of 107 runners.

Sennett Stolly also medaled, finishing 9th with a season-best 12:22.

Other runners hitting PRs included Camden Vollrath, Bennett Lang, Lucas Lin, Anthony Carter, Owen Smith, and Jayden Lambert.

The Lady Chiefs placed 3rd out of 17 teams.

Kylie Lowe (5th) and Baya Deal (7th) earned medals, while Lowe, Deal, Alivia Owens, and Myra Varner set personal records.

Bentley Drake contributed a season-best performance.

The younger Chieftains also ran at the Wapak Night Meet.

Emmett Lowe placed 2nd overall with a 6:16 PR, while Emma Smith matched him for 3rd overall and 1st girl with the same time.

Miley McKirahan earned a medal with a 6:52 PR.

Ellison Carter (7:56) and Oliver Smith (8:10) added strong finishes for the team.

The West Liberty Salem finished 2nd overall at the Columbus Grove Invitational with 51 points in a field of 20 teams.

Milo Matthews led the way, finishing 5th out of 213 runners.

Caizen Anders (6th) and Zeke Lauck (7th) also had top-10 finishes.

The girls team placed 4th out of 15 teams, led by Nika Matthews, who finished 8th out of 171 runners.

Elayna Hoover (15th) and Elin Leichty (18th) also posted strong finishes.
