Middle School Teams Battle on the Court

Indian Lake
Thursday, the 7th-grade Lakers edged out North Union 28-25. Mason Berg nailed the game-winning 3-pointer with 5.8 seconds left. Berg finished with 11 points, while Miller Hall added 9 points. Fletcher Brown hit two 3-pointers, and Broxtyn Emrick contributed 2 points.

The Indian Lake 8th grade boys basketball team won against North Union 47-38. Nixon Lillard led the Lakers with 23 points, including 5 free throws in the final moments. Rush Hurley added 13 points, with 4 free throws in the last minute. Alex Tussing scored 7 points, while Kirk Beres and Cole McClelland had 2 points each. The team is now 7-4 for the season.

Benjamin Logan
The Benjamin Logan 7th grade girls basketball team continued their undefeated streak, defeating Graham 30-23. Mica Coaty and Michaelee Hoge led the Raiders with 10 points each. Hoge also had 16 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 4 steals, while Coaty added 8 rebounds. Addy Leonard contributed 9 points and 6 rebounds.

The 8th grade girls also won over Graham, 44-21 improving to 5-3 on the season. Paislee Rodenberger led all scorers with 14 points, 6 assists, 9 steals, and 3 blocks. Brielle Kline, Marley Shields, and Josie Taylor each added 8 points. Kline added 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists; Taylor contributed 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal; Shields added 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and 1 steal. Addy Leonard finished with 6 points and 1 steal.

The 7th-grade Raiders lost to Graham 33-19. Nevada Coleman led the team with 7 points, followed by Luke Long with 5. Anson Nicols, Carter Nangle, Gavin Vermillion, and Preston Mikes each scored 2 points.

The 8th-grade Benjamin Logan team defeated Graham 45-26. Micah Gregg scored 14 points, had 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Carrick Spriggs finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Gabe Predmore added 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Colton Little scored 5 points, Karson McCoy had 4 points, and Brantley Karn scored 3.  The Raiders improve to 6-1 and will play at North Union on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Calvary Christian
The Spartan girls basketball team fell to Upper Scioto Valley 18-12. Madelyn Carter led the Spartans with 4 points, while Destiney Mathys scored 3. Mazie Worley and Eden Lecrone each added 2 points, and Caroline Moore contributed 1 point.

West Liberty-Salem
The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade boys basketball team defeated Southeastern 58-42. Brandel Sullivan led the team with 17 points, while Isaiah Barth added 11 points. Eli Jones scored 10 points, Nate Shively had 8 points, and Grant Krabill finished with 6 points. Rylan Leichty, Carter Pratt, and Ashton Brannon each scored 2 points.

Bellefontaine

The 7th grade Lady Chiefs won over Urbana, 31-13. Annie Gallaway and Kennedy Hairston each scored 10 points. Gianna Davis scored 8 points, had 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Alexis Hogan hit a 3-pointer, and the Chiefs recorded 13 steals as a team. The girls improved to 5-4 on the season and will play in Wapakoneta on Saturday morning.

The 8th grade Lady Chiefs defeated Urbana, 29-27.  Mia Brown led the Chiefs with 12 points, followed by Lexey Brown with 6 points and Paxton Stewart with 5. Allie Myers scored 4 points, and Cameo Green contributed 2 points.

In an overtime win, the Bellefontaine 7th grade boys defeated Urbana 45-44. Sennett Stolly led the team with 14 points, while Colson Garver added 13 points.

The Bellefontaine 8th-grade boys lost to Urbana 41-26. Zavion Perez led the team with 11 points.

Riverside
The Riverside 7th grade boys defeated the Milton Union 25-15. Brayden Harshbarger scored 7 points, Maddox Burchett led the team with 12 points, and Lukas Olinger added 6 points.

The Riverside 8th grade boys team lost to Milton Union 54-11.
