The West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers had a night week on the court Wednesday.
The 8th-grade team dropped a hard-fought match to Southeastern, 25-12, 14-25, 25-22, bringing their record to 5-1.
The team tallied 18 kills, 12 aces, 1 block, 13 digs, and 11 assists.
The 7th-grade Lady Tigers fell in two sets, 8-25, 19-25, but showed improvement in the second set.
Their record is now 1-5.
Both teams will look to bounce back in a tough matchup against Ben Logan on Thursday at 5:30.
At Jonathan Alder, the Benjamin Logan teams faced challenging contests.
- 7th grade: lost 16-25, 8-25; team stats included 6 aces, 4 kills, and 17 digs.
- 8th grade: split the first two sets 7-25, 25-22, but fell in the third 13-25; team stats included 8 kills, 8 assists, 3 aces, and 2 digs.
Meanwhile, the Bellefontaine Middle School Lady Chiefs hosted Northwestern.
- 8th grade: lost in two sets, 17-25, 21-25. Top performers included Alexis Hogan with 7 assists and 5 digs, Brooklynn Muck with 2 kills and 2 aces, and Ellie Irick with 5 assists and 3 aces.
- 7th grade: battled back to win in three sets, 21-25, 25-16, 25-15. Standouts were Arianna Rumer with 3 assists and 3 aces, Skylar Phan with 19 aces, and Alivia Rogan with 5 kills.
