Middle School Volleyball: Tigers & Pirates Win

The West Liberty-Salem 7th-grade volleyball team beat West Jefferson in 2 sets: 25-13 & 25-13.

The Tigers are 16-0 for the season.

The 8th-grade West Liberty-Salem team battled and won against West Jefferson in a 3-set match: 25-21, 22-25 & 26-24.

They are 6-10 on the season.

Riverside hosted the first round of the 7th-grade tournament with Riverside taking on Covington and taking the win 25-20 and 25-21.

Scorers for the Pirates were:

• Eva Dodds 7 points
• Ellie Zwiebel 3 points
• Abigail Littlejohn 3 points
• Madison Schindewolf 2 points
• Krissy Thompson 1 point
• Emma Pope 1 point.

Riverside will return to action on Saturday for the final day of tournament action.

The Riverside 8th-grade volleyball beat Covington in tournament action: 25-12 & 25-22.

For the Pirates:

• Kenzie Stotler had 16 points, 4 aces
• Molly Carman had 6 points, 5 aces, 3 kills
• Clara McGil had 6 points, 4 aces
• 1 block and Chloe Purtee had 4 points, 4 aces, and 1 kill

They travel to Covington on Saturday to play Bethel at 10 a.m. in the semi-final round of the TRC tournament.
