Milton-Union doubles up Lady Pirates; Graham falls to Shawnee

Milton-Union 10, Riverside 5

The Riverside Lady Pirates lost to Milton-Union 10-5 on Monday.

Milton-Union got on the board in the top of the first inning after Mylee Jones doubled to center field for an RBI, and a Riverside error allowed another to score.

Milton-Union added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Addyson Sanders doubled in two runs, and Jones hit a sacrifice ground out, scoring a run.

Milton-Union added two runs in the third when Tyla Johns singled down the left field line, making the score 7-1.

Jones earned the win for Milton-Union giving up seven hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Riley Dillon took the loss for Riverside. The hurler went seven innings, allowing 10 runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out three and walking five.

Dillon went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the Riverside with two RBIs. Dillon and Miah Carman each collected two hits for Riverside Varsity Pirates.

Jones drove the middle of the lineup, leading Milton-Union with four RBIs. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Sophie Elliott, Jones, and Sanders each collected two hits for Milton-Union.

 

Shawnee 11, Graham 0

Shawnee easily handled the Lady Falcons of Graham on Tuesday, 11-0.
Sydne Blanke garnered the win going 5 innings and allowing just three hits with five strike outs.
Maura Simpson led Shawnee from the plate hitting 2-for-3 with an RBI triple. Kelty Hannon doubled in 3 runs in the effort.
