Monday Baseball: Riverside and West Liberty-Salem Win; Bellefontaine Falls


The Riverside baseball team hosted Ansonia Monday night in a non-league contest.

The Pirates came out on top, 5-0.

Landon Purtee picked up the win on the mound going 4 innings giving up 3 hits and striking out 3.

Michael Shockey came on in relief and went 3 innings surrendering no runs and 2 hits striking out 3.

Dom Stotler and Aiden Manning led the Pirate offense each collecting 2 hits while Stotler drove in 2 runs.

Riverside raises their record to 3-0 on the year.


The West Liberty-Salem Tigers beat the Triad Cardinals 10-0 in their first OHC game of the season.

Eli Allen got the win for the Tigers, pitching five strong innings, giving up two hits, zero runs, eight strikeouts, and 0 walks.

The Tigers were hot at the plate as well.

Eli Allen went 2-3 with an RBI.

Jeremiah Johnson went 2-3 with an RBI as well.

Isaiah reams with 3-3 and scored two runs.

Jake Evans went 2-2 with two RBIs and a walk.

Caleb Hershberger went 2-2 with three RBIs.

The Tigers are now 2-1 and 1-0 in the OHC.

The Tigers travel to Triad tomorrow to take on the Cardinals in their second OHC game of the season.


The Bellefontaine Chiefs fell to Kenton Ridge 11-0.

Alex Crabill led things off on the bump for the Chiefs.

He gave up three hits and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking four.

Carter Caudill went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Chiefs.

Bellefontaine will be back in action on Wednesday at Kenton Ridge.
