Monday Middle School Volley: Riverside, Benjamin Logan, West Liberty-Salem, Bellefontaine & Indian Lake

The Riverside 8th-grade volleyball team defeated Covington in three sets: 25-21, 21-25 & 25-23.

Leading the Pirates were:

  • Kenzie Stotler had 11 points, 3 aces, 2 hits
  • Molly Carman had 7 points, 4 aces, 3 hits
  • Clara McGill had 5 points
  • Valerie Knight had 3 points, 3 hits, and 1 block. They return to action Thursday at home vs. Milton Union.

Riverside traveled to Covington on a conference match and the 7th-grade Pirates were victorious in 3 sets 18-25, 25-17 & 25-19.

Leading the Pirates were:
  • Morgan Klingelhofer 17 points with 8 aces, 1 kill, and 2 tips
  • Eva Dodds 10 points with 7 aces, 1 kill, and 1 tip
  • Ellie Zwiebel 7 points with 5 aces,1 kill, and 2 tips
  • Emma Pope 5 points with 2 aces, and 1 kill
  • Abigail Littlejohn 2 points with 2 aces, and 1 tip
  • Krissy Thompson 1 point and 1 kill
Riverside will host Milton Union on Thursday.

 

The West Liberty-Salem 7th-grade volleyball team traveled to Southeastern and beat the Trojans in 2 sets: 25-23 & 25-12.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th-grade volleyball fell to Southeastern in a two-set match: 16-25 & 6-25.

 

The Benjamin Logan 7th-grade volleyball team won a great match Monday in 3 sets: 26-24, 8-25 & 25-9.

The 8th-grade team lost in 2 sets: 16-25 & 18-25.

 

The 8th-grade Lady Chiefs fell to Indian Lake Monday evening.

Leading the Chiefs:

  • Lyla Connor scored 5 points and 3 aces
  • Ava Oppy added 3 kills
  • Hailey Augustus added 4 points serving

The Chiefs return to action Wednesday when they travel to Springfield Shawnee.

The 7th-grade Lady Chiefs fell to the Lake in two sets 14-25 & 10-25.

  • Marlee Huffman, Rosalie Lightle, and Addison Smith each had a kill in the contest
  • Mia Brown added 2 assists and a dig
  • Madaline Barrett contributed 2 aces

The Lady Chiefs are back at it on Wednesday when they travel to Shawnee.

The ILMS Lady Laker Volleyball teams traveled to Bellefontaine to face off against the Lady Chieftains last night.

Both teams took home wins in two sets.

The 7th graders won 25-14 & 25-10.

The Lakers served up a total of 20 aces; 6 from Ayla Brentlinger, 5 from Lux Kipker, 4 from Taylor Duff, 2 from Layna Nessler, and 1 each from Audree Titus, Claire Tidwell, and Piper Robinson.

Indian Lake put down 8 kills; 2 from Mary Archer, 2 from Layna Nessler, and one each from Ayla Brentlinger, Claire Tidwell, Piper Robinson, and Lux Kipker. They also ended the night with 7 digs; 2 from Audree Titus, 2 from Audra Harford, and one each from Claire Tidwell, Piper Robinson, and Lux Kipker.

The 8th grade Lady Lakers also took care of business 25-2, 25-17. Bre Wisener served 23 straight points, with 11 aces.

The ILMS Volleyball teams are back in action Wednesday evening at home taking on Jonathan Alder.
