West Liberty-Salem middle school basketball teams were in action this week with impressive performances in the OHC North tournament and regular season play.
8TH GRADE GIRLS — West Liberty-Salem 31, Mechanicsburg 29
The West Liberty-Salem 8th-grade girls edged out Mechanicsburg 31–29 in the second round of the OHC North tournament. The win improves their record to 10–3 and advances the team to the tournament finals, where they will face Triad at Greenon High School on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 11:30 a.m.

8TH GRADE BOYS — Mechanicsburg 27, West Liberty-Salem 21
The 8th-grade boys fell to Mechanicsburg 27–21, dropping their record to 11–4. Foster King led the team with eight points, followed by Kipton Crowder and Mason Wallace with five points each. Mack Heminger added two points, and AJ Estes finished with one.

7TH GRADE BOYS — West Liberty-Salem 27, Mechanicsburg 25
The 7th-grade boys pulled out a tight 27–25 home win over Mechanicsburg. Greyson Leichty led the way with 11 points and two rebounds, while Nathan Deitrick added five points and three rebounds. Harrison Sutherin contributed four points and six rebounds, Miles Wright scored four points with one rebound, and Michael Beard added three points with one rebound.
